A Family At War - Theme Tune Help Please.

I recently watched a few episodes of the 1970s 'A Family At War' and forgot what a brilliant piece of music it was until I heard it.

I know its an extract from Vaughan Williams Symphony No.6 and pretty sure it was issued as a Decca 7" 45rpm single but I can't remember what the specific version used in the programme was. I believe it was Sir Adrian Boult conducting the London Symphony Orchestra but cannot be certain.

I've tried looking at various internet websites for themes but to no avail.If you recall the specific single from the early 1970s,could you tell me the conductor and orchestra please?

Thank you very much indeed for any help you can give this music collector.

If no answer by tomorrow I think I have it on CD in the loft ( recently moved house!).
On one of two CDs 'Radio and TV themes'.
I have them both in 'My Music' but the tracks are only numbered and not named!
Or did my wife give them to Oxfam!!?
Have you tried searching Amazon?

muddypaws....Your idea that it might be on a two cd set is very helpful. I'm off to Amazon to look for your cd set. Thank you.

Just listened to all track intros and I fear not there.
Would Onedin Line or Forsyte Saga do instead. (:-}}
