  daytimers82 09:55 26 Jul 10

im not sure who financed the empire, im sure someone else knows

  lotvic 10:00 26 Jul 10

We could ask the Romans, they were quite good with Empires.

  Kevscar1 10:07 26 Jul 10

The colonies, what we took, stole and underpayed them for.

  ronalddonald 10:10 26 Jul 10

But who paid for it to happen was it the taxpayers or some kind of political agenda

  Quickbeam 10:37 26 Jul 10

They were self financing with the cream being used to pay for grand palaces for the nobility that owned them and our Royal Navy to protect the geese that laid the golden colony eggs.

Until it all went pear shaped anyway.

"or some kind of political agenda"

Every empire wants to rule the world, both militarily and economically. And every empire has and will eventually fall.

  daytimers82 10:49 26 Jul 10

So the very british empire failed

  daytimers82 10:50 26 Jul 10

how did it fail

  Quickbeam 11:14 26 Jul 10

We failed to convince the colonies that we knew best, and that independence was not in their best interests...

  Kevscar1 11:14 26 Jul 10

Because all these dam foriegners wanted to rule themslves. I blame it on the yanks wanting independance, can't even spell colour, valour or centre properly yet they thought they could run a country. Look where it,s got them.
