DVD copying

without actually saying anything illegal, can anyone recommend any software that will allow me to make personal backup copies of my DVD movies?

i see that dvdxcopy is closed and i have also seen something called dvdsqueeze?

oh and i want it free of course!!

anydvd & clonedvd for disk 2 disk (ahem! backup's)
winavi for avi,wmv,xvid etc 2 dvd (ahem! home movies)
