A nice story. I am sure we all wish them many more happy years together.

Thanks for that, Bingalau. Fair warmed the cockles of me heart it did.

Note for younger readers: "married" is what Mummies and Daddies used to be, back in the olden days when me granddad were a lad. What's more they were married to each other (usually). Funny ways folk had i' them days.

Steady on!! You may be at risk of introducing an old trend.

As for the couple in question, they were mentioned on the 1pm news and a grand story it is.

My folks have only been married for 50 years which is a great milestone.
But 81 is amazing!

Nice story Bingalau, I cant believe that in two years time i will be married 30 years, This has lasted even tho i have been having an affiar with my computer for the last ten years,

Its 37 years for us this year. She was 16 when we met and we got married on her 18th birthday, so I have no excuse for forgetting either!

  laurie53 17:16 26 May 09

We got married four days after her birthday, so if the worst happens at least I only get berated once!

Never happened yet, in fact I still always remember to tell her on the anniversary of our first date, in 1961.

  Brumas 23:35 26 May 09

As I have said on many postings, I married expressly on April 1st so that, amongst other reasons, I would never, ever forget the anniversary!
It must have worked because in 35 years I have not forgotten the one!

  Spark6 23:44 26 May 09

There's hope for us all! Another 30 years and we'll be joining them, I don't think.
