The Christmas Spirit

Earlier today we visited our local retail park for a few last minute bits, thinking it might be quieter on a Monday – it wasn’t!

Absolute hell, musical parking spaces, hunt the trolley, guess the quickest checkout – all the traditional Christmas games.

In the midst of all this my wife discovered she had dropped her purse – all her cards, several hundred quid, the works.

Saw a parking attendant and asked him if he would call the management offices to report the loss, and to initiate the card stopping business.

“Just been handed in to Ponden Mill” says he, and escorted us along there (We hadn’t shopped there, just happened to be outside there that we dropped it.).

Staff had already phoned home to let us know they had it and had attached the name of the lady who found it.

My wife is still shaking but this could have been a memorable Christmas for all the wrong reasons.

It’s good to know that the Christmas sprit, or even normal civilised behaviour, is still about.

Good to know there are plenty of honest people around, its a worry when you mislay purse / wallet / cards even when they turn up a few minutes later in the other pocket :0)

morddwyd. Great to hear a bit of good news for a change. Also to know that there are still decent people in the World. Mind you on these forums we already know that of course.

That lady who handed the purse in might have been skint herself, it's really good to hear some news of good honest people that are still around. The world can't be that bad after reading an experience like that.
