This is nothing new, in fact Britain's broadband industry have stated that there is no need or demand for fast broadband.

But the Minister for Competitiveness Stephen Timms, declares "that delays putting the necessary networks in place could harm the future UK economy".

Yes, because they are doing very nicely thank-you, making healthy profits, without going to the expense of investing in providing a better service.

As in the States, the loser is the customer.
