Many years ago I went to the theatre in Brixham Devon and remember that a well known stage/TV actor(at that time) was associated with it.Can anyone tell me who it may have been please?

I am amused by the phrase in Woolwell`s link:

"The bloke who wrote 'Abide with me' lived here".

This "bloke" was Henry Francis Lyte, who was the parish priest at All Saints Church, in Lower Brixham. In 1847 he died of TB in Nice, three weeks after writing it.
