British Aircraft Carriers

What do you call an Aircraft Carrier with no planes?

A floating target!

What do you call the ship builders of Portsmouth etc without the two new aircraft carriers.

What do you call a plane with no aircraft carrier.

An Aircraft Carrier is a floating target whether it has planes onboard or not.

Surplus to needs..

Brown allowed their building knowing full well he couldn't pay for them, and that there would be no modern planes to fly from them

Of course the carrier allways has other warships ships with it.

Just one American carrier is accompanied and protected by more warships than we have in the whole of our fleet

cannot see why they do not hang on to the harrier jets till the new planes are ready.

what about the argies if they have another go?

or is there adv drones being built that can have sonar and dog fight use, as well as firing missiles at ground/sea targets.

the american navy must be seeing us as idiots.

I was under the impression that the 2 new carriers were being built on Clydeside.

At sea, that would be called a "goner".

By the fime they are finished, allowing a few years over-run, the new fighter should be almost ready for trials. Anyway there are a few planes they could use at Duxford.
