This is indeed a very sad loss.

I saw Arthur Lee and Love live twice just a couple of years ago (there was another PCA forum member in the queue). The first concert was songs from all the Love albums; the second was "Forever Changes" complete with orchestra. Both concerts were absolute magic.

It was great to see that over half the audience was young people, not old enough to have been born when Love first hit the scene. It was quite amusing to see that we were all wearing exactly the same kind of clothes that were worn back in the 60s :-)

It was obvious that Arthur Lee was having the time of his life: there was just no stopping him once he got going on the first night and we, the audience, didn't want him to stop.

"Dear old man
Wise old man
Fine old man, now"

(Bryan McLean "Old Man": the titular "old man" reputedly being Arthur Lee.)
