Just after installing aim 5.5 mid way through while it was installing i notice to my absolute horror the name WILDTANGEMT pop up.

After freaking out i stopped the install and wiped off aim 5.5 then ran every anti spyware software i had to remove it.

21 entries on spybot so i think i got it in time.

My point is that why would a company like america online have such spyware in there programs?

I have seen wildtangent on freinds pc,s and its a devil to remove.

Wildtangent itself sends information about your pc setup to its headquarters such as hardware and such.

Why aol why???

Have you got the spelling correct? WILDTANGEMT or WILDTANGENT only you've spelt it two ways, the first one is nothing and the second is indeed spyware click here

If it is the the spyware then AOL seemed to be going against there privacy policy click here and have a look at number 2, 5 and 8.
