Looking at my zonealarm settings I notice that ther eis a tick in the box 'disable windows firewall'

Is this the norm?

Is there any advanatage or indeed issue with running both e.g. would they conflict?

Disable Windows Firewall.

It is currently disabled so I will leave it as it is.

I assume from your response that conflicts can occur if 2 firewalls are running and that you would select zonealarm over windows firewall

yes to both parts of your question.

windows firewall is useless it affords basic one way protection to those who don't take security seriously. Leave it disabled and run Zone Alarm.

Windows Firewall is about as much use as a chocolate bobby

I am convinced

And Zone Alarm? Most pc users don't know who is knocking at the door but they always say 'yes' to
Zone Alarm and "let them in anyway".
