ZoneAlarm & USB

I have two problems in a new computer I have just built.
1 - Zone Alarm slows down the operation of WinMX.
2 - Belkin card reader caused the computer to fail to start when it is plugger in. If removed the m/c starts OK and I can then put the reader in and and it works (USB).
MSI K7N2 Delta, Athlon XP2800, 512mg RAM, Win ME.
The power supply in the new case is 300 watts could this be a bit low and be the cause of the second problem.
Many thanks in advance.

For USB, if it's a VIA chipset then the latest drivers from click here might help. I wouldn't have thought the power requirements for a card reader would put undue strain on the system unless it was right on the limit to start with.

Maybe another firewall won't have the same problem. As I use ZoneAlarm though I can't recommend any others although I'm sure other forum members will.

Chipset is NVIDIA.
Thought about another firewall but do not know which one to go for.

If you want a decent firewall, use Sygate, I reckon its top notch click here
