Zone Alarm warning, is this suspicious?

I have just received an e-mail addressed to Dear customer, saying that "Installation of Microsoft Update KB951748 may result in loss of Internet connectivity." This update has been installed on the 09/07/08 and there doesn't seem to be any problems.

I don't even have Zone Alarm! Needless to say I have not clicked on the link in the e-mail

It looks ok,It takes you to the ZA download site I used yesterday to fix the MS mess-up.

Thanks for that, I have now deleted said mail.

As a matter of interest, I have had a problem with internet connectivity since that download was installed automatically, and I did not get a warning from ZA. I have since changed to Comodo and it is running ok now. It wasn't a scam.

Further to the above, the e mail may be a scam (I did not open it),but the fault is genuine.

I find that some of my programmes open very slowly, about 15 seconds, particularly Firefox. I have an up to date PC and I have done all the housekeeping. They are normally ok once they have been opened. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this time can be shortened, am I right or dreaming?
