Zone Alarm stopping incoming mails

further to my earlier thread.

I get the following error message with Outlook Express when I try to download my mails.

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.dsl.pipex.com (1)', Server: 'pop.dsl.pipex.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

When I disable ZA it works OK.

I assume that your using AVG Anti-Virus. A possibility is the ZA is blocking AVG from checking the incoming mail and so it isn't downloaded. Check the Programs in ZA and see if AVG is blocked, probably from server access.
