Zone Alarm

  Snakey 22:32 10 Oct 03

I have just installed ZA on my Win200 PC running a Shared ADSL Broadband connection.

My second XP Pro PC is networked to this and accesses the Internet and also Maps to a shared Drive.

Since ZA installation I cannot Browse or connect to the Mapped Drive.

Being unfamiliar with ZA can anyone tell me what to turn off (apart from ZA itself)

Many Thanks

I'm using ZA - the Pro version - which gives a help (?)button at the top right when ZA is opened. Type Network into its search box and a wizard can be used to set things up. I assume the free ZA version has this option. Hope this helps. TC.

You may need to add either the name or IP address of your 2nd PC to ZA as a "Trusted" zone.

This is done by double-clicking ZA icon at bottom right of taskbar to call up the full ZA window.

Then select "Firewall" button on the left of ZA window.

Then select "Zones" tab to right of "Main" tab.

Then click "Add" button from bottom right.

Choose name or IP address.

Enter the other PC's details.

Click OK to save this.

Then click "Apply" from bottom right & hopefully all will be okay.

If not then check the ZA "Alerts & Logs".

Good luck
