Zipped files

XP pro used to open zipped files for me just by double clicking on the file.
My son downloaded a program called winrar which I don't like and can't use as easily.
I uninstalled winrar but now the zip files don't show as zip file icons like they used to, and I can't open them.
What was the original program and can I get it back?

Thanks

In Windows Explorer, rif=ght click a compressed file and select Open With.

Click the Choose Program buton, select "Compressed (zipped) folders" and tick the box "Always use the selected program to open this type of file"

That was painless.
