On some internet pages, part of the page comes up 'you are not authorised to view this page'. Most of the webpage is fine, it is only part of the page.

I presume its something to do with my internet settings. Does anyone know?

Adjust your privicy options, tools - internet options - privicy tab.

You may also find that some websites are by subscription only, and non-subscribers cannot get entry.Bit like 'Pay before you view'tv.

Another example are websites which have a trade or business section - for obvious reasons you have to be officially registered to be able to gain access to certain sections.

Nope that didn't do it - for example on the side of this web page (PC Advisor) there is this small section.

If the rest of the page is working ok then why worry?

The reason is to do with the settings of your computer. In order to prevent web pages observing your browsing the bit of the page concerned is disabled. You may find, for example that e-mails containing html will have a note at the top saying that certain parts of the page have been disabled, and some items will merely have a small red x in the corner

Among the bits and bobs that will arrange this are
SP2, internet explorer privacy settings, zone alarm and many flash killers included with Spybot, Ad-aware etc
