I have Yahoo as my homepage on my windows XP computer. For some reason it will not load now. In the bottom left of the monitor it says waiting for click here which keeps flashing on and off and nothing happens.
Every other webpage I try loads without a problem.
Its not the router as we have another computer attached to it that works fine displaying Yahoo.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Whatever button you click (IE7 or IE8 etc) to open your web browser. Right click that button (not the short cut) in the menu select 'Properties'
Under the heading 'Home Page' is Yahoo! displayed in the box?

By the way when I clicked your link it took me to the Yahoo! web site?

You replied to my question by sending me an email. Those of us on PCA who offer help and advice on the 'Forums' would prefer to keep communications on the forums. Unless we suggest otherwise. It allows others to both benifit from the discussions and also add their own solutions to problems.

Your answer to my question is as follows...
"No Yahoo does not appear when I click properties"

Ok then, does it say anything else, if so what?

Have you tried the old DNS trick ?
DNS CACHE FLUSH
From a command prompt type, run as admin type ipconfig /flushdns
This will flush the DNS cache
Then type,
net stop dnscache
followed by enter, and then
net start dnscache and enter.

You run the command prompt (CMD.EXE) as admin it should read, and then type ipconfig /flushdns

Tried the dnscache it was cleared ok but still made no difference.
On the properties box the tabs listed are General Shortcut & Compatibility. On the Shortcut it says
Target ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\EXPLORER.EXE"
In Start in %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%
Shortcut key None
Run Normal Window

What if you put yahoo.com into google ?
Will it open from there.

  BrianColneRoad 12:54 24 Jul 09

Tried it from google but it still will not. I could however log into my email via the link in google and also My Yahoo - But not the general Yahoo homepage

Can't think of anything logical.
May be worth running running disc cleanup and also perhaps "delete browsing history" from the IE7/8 toolbar to cleanup temporary files. Tools, internet options etc.
Not logical I know.

I had the same problem. Then I noticed that I could load Yahoo UK using Mozilla. So, I uninstalled IE8 and now I can access Yahoo UK using IE.
