XP's default 'Burner'

I make many Slide shows and burn onto CD'R's as VCD's and others, by link through the
program in use -XACT / PaintShop Photo Album/DVD PhotoPlay, using Nero.

Recently I upped from 98SE to XP, and things in the burning department through the above
have gone awry, although using Nero on its own is OK.

Through another string on this list I learned of XP's 'built in burner' and wondered if in fact the above programs were accessing the XP burner by default and it and Nero in conflict.

If this is likely, how does one disable the XP one?

Access it via Admin Tools/Component services/Local services.

Listed as IMAPI CD-Burning. If it's running, stop it,then set to disable. This will not affect the operation of Nero as I use Nero quite happily with it set as Disabled.
