  gazbut 20:39 05 Oct 03

hi- through your help ive installed my new xp2600+
can anyone tell me what the fsb should be set at i've tried it at 133 and system thinks its an xp2200+ at 166 it thinks its a 2800+
so this may sound thick but can this be set anywhere?
does this not damage the cpu?
+ what is an ideal temp for the cpu to run at?
the software with the mobo says its currently 62'c is this ok ?
the mobo is an msi kt6 delta thats good for larger cpu's.
hope you can help

Is your 2600+ a 266 or 333 FSB

  bremner 20:55 05 Oct 03

From E Mail

hi bremner - afraid i don't know the chip fsb how can i find out?
cheers gaz

My Computer > Properties and if it is 266FSB then the speed will be shown as 2.133Ghz. If it is 333FSB it will be 2.075Ghz

It is much better to reply on the forum rather than e mail - everyone then benefits from the advice

Take your chip out and wipe the thermal paste off, and read the front of it. It will have info about what processor it is and then what type.

I found this on the MSI website, maybe you can find out which 2600+ you have and maybe that may give someone the info they need to help ya?

MSI have useful info on their site which may help you identify the CPU
