I have an old PC,with a jetway mother board.I have purchased a W/DIG 160sata hard drive(Not knowing there was a big difference to IDE).
First problem,no sata plug on mother board.
Have now got an ide adapter and plugged it in.
On boot it show the hard drive as master, and so I moved on to load XP.It runs as far as Poss and then says windows cant find a hard drive??
What do I have to do next?...How do I get the windows system to see the hard drive??

You will require a Sata host controller card and you will require the Sata drivers for the hard drive that you transfer to a floppy on installing
WXP you press F6 it will then ask you to inset the floppy.
Windows will see only upto 121GB although this was suppose to have been delt with SP2,i would return the sata drive for an IDE not above 120GB.
