I've been using XP Pro on my home pc and have noticed that the directory 'tree' structure in windows explorer isn't visible.

The Drives and + - signs are visible, but no tree, does anyone know where the control for this is or indeed how to restore it??

Thanks in Advance

I may have misunderstood you here, but try clicking the "folders view" icon at the top.

I know what you mean, but I'm refering to the left hand window e.g. I can see both windows, but in the left window there should be a dotted line (tree structure) showing the different directory levels. It's this dotted line that I'm trying to get to show up.

go to:

windows explorer
tools
Folder options
View
Untick display simple folder view in Explorer's folders list

That will do the trick

No joy that didn't affect it at all. Any other ideas??

When you get to explorer go to Windows folder look for Explorer right click and drag a shortcut to task bar
