Well first of all is the soundcard properly seated and did you install the drivers etc without any problems?

Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Are there any exclamation marks etc?

If there is not then theres a setting in the sound properties that needs to adjusted...

Start > Settings > Control Panel
> Sound and Audio Devices...

Under "Speaker settings" Click the "Advanced" button and select in the drop down menu the setup of your speakers.

Now under "Device Volume" click the "Advanced" button. This will open up "play Contol"

Options > Advanced Controls...

Under "play Control" Click the "Advanced" button and select "Digital Output only" (thats if you are usng digital spekers)

See i that works...

Now if it does not ake sure that nothing is muted.

Also sounds simple enough but make sure the volume is turned up.
