I'm using XP home edition and i have my normal log on at the front screen to go in as admin, but i have once had my computer locked by windows and it has asked for a user name and password. As far as i can remember i have never set one. How do i set one?

Does it ask you for a password when you click on admin, if yes just hit return and that should let you into windows to set a password for yourself in control panel.

I've got a password on my admin account already, is there somewhere else that i have to put a username and password?

XP has its default Admin account as well. You have now got two accounts called Admin.

The default XP one has no password.

If you boot into safe mode you will be able to access this.
