XP upgrade question - naive but I need help

  BrianW 22:53 18 Dec 03

I've just installed an upgrade of XP home over 98 se. I understand that this process creates an backup file which can be removed at a later date.

My HD is stuffed as a result of this upgrade (gone from about 8gb to 16 gb) and I presume a lot of this is the old system files.

I've tried to find them to delete them with no luck.

XP help is of no use, can't find anything.

Anybody out there able to help - please.

TIA, Brian

Start, All Programs/Accessories/System Tools, Disk Cleanup.

Tick Windows Uninstall Information

I had seen the file but it seemed too small! I was looking for something with a few gig rather than a few thousand Kb.

Removed and sorted
