XP Update nag screen

  Cobber 14:47 04 Jul 06

I have chosen not to allow auto XP update.
I want to see - and choose - what MS put on my computer. However I keep getting the nag screen sayin 'auto update is off'
Damn it I know it is off since I chose to turn it off!!!
How do I get rid of the continual nag screen reminders?

I believe that you can have auto update on, but not let it actually update. This would get rid of that nag, but you may get one saying updates are ready to install

You need to Enable the update service on the lines of Advise Me when Updates are Available but Let me Choose what to Install.

When you get a notification select Custom (or Customise?) and download the appropriate updates for your system.
