XP thumbnails display

Only .gif files show a proper thumbnail in explorer. .png and .jpg show as a MS Office picture manager logo and not the actual mini version of the picture.

How do I change this?

with what programme are your .jpg files associated? ie when you try to open one, what launches it? Maybe if you ensure they open with a photo adjustment problem (if you have one), things will improve.I found that even though I use Photoshop CS4, .jpg are ok but files with layers (.psd)only show as a Photo shop logo.

I'm not sure what version of Windows you're running. However, if it's XP, I find that the best file association to set image files to is Windows Picture & Fax Viewer.

That should give you Windows Explorer thumbnails of most image file formats.
