XP Start and Taskbar problem

  Slithe 10:29 09 Dec 05

Hi - my Windows XP Home Start Bar has become strange.
There are a series of 'holes' to the right of the Start button and the whole bar from Start to the clock, has a blue line above it, almost as if there is something behind it.

I've tried scanning for viruses and spyware and have found nothing. I've tried going through the various options for the Taskbar and cannot solve the problem.

Any ideas

That's the normal appearance when the taskbar is unlocked.

To lock it, right click on a blank area of the taskbar, and click on *Lock the Taskbar*

Thanks guys - DieSse, you were right - I knew I'd clicked something to alter the appearance, but couldn't remember what it was.

VoG - thanks for the link.
