xp start up

I occasionally get a pop up on start up that says that overclocking has failed and I have to start from a previous settings that worked . I havent changed anything and it only does this about three times a week . Any ideas.

Change the CMOS battery and set BIOS to default settings.

Reset Bios to factory default, and also try the fail safe setting if the Bios got this option.

check the PC inside if there is any dust clouded fans. If so, clean the fans.
