XP SP2 Network Problems.

I have run a home network using SP1 [systems side by side with a simple direct crossover cable] for over a year. I installed SP2 on one system and immediately had the problems of a "limited or no connectivity" warning. Checking the connection status, I have a message that the "network did not assign a network address to this computer" {although it appears that an IP address has been assigned and the network seems to work normally}.

I realise that this has been raised several times earlier this year - so far I have been unable to find any thread which could provide a solution. I have tried KB884020; updated drivers and reloading the network - all to no avail.

I raise this again in case anyone has come up with a solution recently.

Many thanks

John R
