I have downloaded and am using SP2 with no problems.
My query is, I have a hardware firewall and all I want from the SP2 firewall is to stop unwanted connections from my Pc to the outside world a la Zonealarm - it doesn't appear to do this - no pop ups requesting permission.

Any advice???

What advises against 2 firewalls.

It is common practise to have a hardware and software firewall.
I am not an expert but hardware firewalls make no attempt to stop outbound connections so a software firewall can be used for that purpose - ZA does and pops up a message telling you what is trying to connect - I don't seem to be getting this with SP2!

go to control panel>Network and Internet Connections>windows firewall>exceptions

Now untick all the programmes you dont want to connect

I believe you can have a hardware and software firewall together, but it is definetely advised that you do not have two software firewalls. So if you are using another software firewall, disable the XP one.
