XP-Shutdown....and install updates

  six-h 01:05 14 Nov 09

Just tried to find out what updates were to be installed upon shutdown but couldn't find a way to view them.
How do you view them??
Tried "Windows Update" site but that just ran and ran at 100% cpu.
Closing the browser just left Task Mgr. running and still cpu 100%, so I stopped svchost.exe which was using 86% to give the poor little chip a rest!
Shutting down after that there were no updates to install!
What is wrong with my machine :-(

Thanks rdave13, if it persists tomorrow I'll try that.
Any idea how you view updates that are not announced until you attempt to shutdown XP?

Mine's set to notify but not download though tonight it didn't show an icon in the sys. tray saying there were any pending so I was stumped!

Ahh. XP. No longer in this household until Christmas with these new fangled Net-books.
Try the fix and let us know. Thanks.

Thought you were going to say you were a W7 convert!
