XP Restore

Restore is taking up over 1Gb on my computer. How do I reduce this. I only want the last restore point maintained

It can be dangerous keeping only one restore point. If the problem you are trying to sort out by using restore was present but not detected before the only restore date you have, you are in the proverbial schtum.

Make sure your PC is working OK as only your last restore point will be maintained.

Open "My Computer"

Right Click on the Hard Drive (usually C) that you have installed Windows XP on.

Select "General"

Select "Disk Clean Up"

Select "More Options"

Select "System Restore"

Select "Clean Up"

This should safely recover your 1 Gb of disk space and maintain a system restore point.

Hi, If you are using XP ---Programs> accessories> system tools> system restore, you will see in the left hand pane system restore settings, Click on this and set your slider to where you want it. Cheers, Bill
