Trust this doesn't sound too stupid for words; I have my XP laptop recovery disk in hand, my PC recovery disk is offsite; As I'm trying to boot up my PC, is it possible to use my laptop recovery disk (without major aggratation) to restore my PC?

Seems to me it should be straightforward but then again.............

If this is a full Windows XP disk and not a manufacturer's recovery disk then you should be OK - PROVIDED that you enter the Product Key for your PC (not laptop) when prompted.

If it's a Restore Recovery CD it will only work with the Computer it was provided with.

But as Vog say's if it's a Full XP OS disc you can use it to repair the computer if they are both Home editions Not one of both Pro and Home
