XP recovery disk

I have an old desktop running XP home and it is running slow, so I intend to re-install the operating system. I have the original recovery disk, which pre-dates service pack one. If I use that disk do I need to just install SP3 (plus later fixes) or do I need to install SP1 and SP2 as well.

According to this Microsoft page the full SP3 installation file incorporates all previous updates. Therefore you don't need to install SP1 or SP2 first.

This link will allow you to download XP SP3, you will of course need your registration code XP SP3

I had to install SP1 first then SP3 so maybe things have changed.

I thought it was SP1 then SP3 too. No biggie.

There is another SP3 version for 'Network Admins'

I had to use it since the standalone version (above) did not install on my PC. Just in case.
