XP Professional Hangs and wont sut Down

I have created a dual boot system and for a while all was fine. Now when I have booted into XP and want to shut down the the Closing windows screens just hangs. Only way to close is to hold the on button.

Also I have to set the Bios to 100/100mhz speed for the clock speed otherwise XP wont load.

Perhaps the motherboard is not up to the job although I should appreciate any help.

search MS, you may find solution there. I think it is a well known problem. Have you upgraded to SP1?
