I am running a rather illegal XP Pro in NTFS format and would like to make ammends.
I have purchased a legal version and would like to re-install.
Can someone give me the best approach to take.
I have a 60G drive and have backed up all my important data.
Many thanks.

Thanks Mike.
Is that boot with the new XP Pro legal and I dont have to re-format the drive.
Will it also remove all the illegal copy and will I still have all my data.

It's better to format the drive and it will remove all traces but BACK UP FIRST

For a clean install, go into BIOS and set CD drive as first bootable device, turn off PC.

Re-boot with XP in the drive, click on any key to boot from CD, and follow instructions for a fresh install, this will format your drive and install a clean version of XP.

XP will re-boot a couple of times during install, and you will see on screen, (Press any key to boot from disk).

DO NOT press any key, and the install will continue, if you do press "Any key" you will find yourself in an endless loop. J.
