A PCChips 810LMR Mobo, AMP XP1800 processor, 40 gig HD, 256 memory, and XP Pro.
when booting up I am getting the following msg =
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to you computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

If this is the first time youve seen this stop error, restart your computer.

If this screen appears again, follow these steps:"

The message continues to tell me to check newly installed hardware or software is properly installed.
I have not installed any new hardware or programs apart from re-installing the S/w for the CDRW the other day, so I have formatted the HD, re-installed XP Pro, checked all connections etc, and I still get the above message.

Any suggestions greatfully received,

TIA
