XP Pro boot issue - Autochk.exe not found - skip

In the last 2 days the above blue screen error appears just after the Windows XP splash screen on bootup.
The fault contains a reference to System32 file which I cannot find either.
I'm running XP Pro with SP2 - any ideas what has caused this & how to fix please?

I have run scannow sfc & still have the problem ?
I am loathe to do a XP repair as the problem does not seem to effect the computer when running but only shows this problem on bootup.
Any other suggestions?

Ok, have tried that VoG tm but it does not allow me to run that in 32bit mode?
So I'm still stuck!
I have found the Autochk file in the system 32 & replaced it but have still got a problem.
Is there a way to find it on the Windows OEM disk & just cut & paste to be sure of a good original copy?

Thx Fruit Bat - Sorted
I have disabled it through using the chkntfs /x c: command
