Have 2 accounts on my XP home laptop. With the secondary account called Family ( Full Admin privileges )the machine frequently fails to respond to either logoff ( user Family ) or indeed Shutdown, Restart etc. I often have to physically powerdown when the Family account has been used .. not a great burden since the kids are at UNI most o the time BUT ... what could be up here ? Ta in advance Woodchip !

I used said method and reduced my shutdown time considerably, from a a minute or two to less then 26 Seconds.

Don`t think you`ve got the issue I`m having. Not a slow logoff or shutdown BUT on occasions ( with that one account only ) complete failure to do so necessitating a physical shutdown.
