I have 2 copies of WinXP Pro and I inadvertently used the the key for copy a when installing copy b and it immediatly said I have an invalid key, I thought that any XP Pro key would work with any XP Pro disc?

Further to that what is Win XP Pro 2002?

Thanks

I think XP was updated 2002 (Possibly to SP2)but I am not sure.
Each Key is set for one license unless it is a corporate copy.

If you phone MS and exlain the error, it will help you out.

XP Pro 2002 is not a term that I have ever heard anyone use. SP1 was released around that time, but SP2 came along later than that.

Earlier keys will not work on CDs shipped with XP SP2

I have just reinstalled with the correct disc and the key worked fine, the other version of XP Pro I have mustn't be XP Pro 2002 - not that I was aware there was a difference.
