Sounds like the Msblaster worm

To get rid of blaster/Lovsan

Download stinger click here
Download Microsoft patch click here

Turn off system restore ME & XP
Control panel / System / System restore tab/ check box

Apply the Microsoft patch then run stinger. When clean turn system restore back on

And that should cure the problem

If you click on Start, Run and type shutdown -a
and click OK this will give you more time to download the files.

Hey thanks guys
I have Norton A/V 2003 on the system and it did not stop it, will I have to stop NAV running while I do the clean up?

  Jester2K 13:08 05 Jan 04

No you can run Stinger with NAV running. Once clean get ANV updated.
