I recently wanted to reinstall my system because some virus problems. i put the disc in the drive and started my computer and my system started without booting from the cd. I checked the cd on my system and it recognised the disc as blank. But thats impossible it is an installation disc i always used it on the same computer to reinstall my system.

I checked the booting device settings are good.
This is what i dont like;it worked before all the time, now it doesnt.

Dont know what to do.

Does your CD drive recognise other disks?

I have had this after a virus prob with a system. The only way I got things back to normal was to remove the mobo battery and move the jumper to clear the cmos. Follow the instructions in the manual to reset the cmos as these do differ for different makes etc.
