XP Installation

I'm currently running on 2000 Professional (for home use, though) and it's very well-behaved with all the programs loaded. But I'm considering moving to XP Professional and am told I can simply install it over 2000, i.e. without uninstalling 2000. Is this right? The last thing I want is a heap of trouble......

Should install as an upgrade keeping all your settings and installed programs
