I've got a new mobo - MSI PT880 Neo FSR - with a prescott 3.2 cpu and a maxtor 160 gb sata hdd. When I try to install windows xp home it crashes during setup. I get past the loading of the files etc but the setup crashes to a black screen or else restarts.

Any clues? Help!!

Sounds like its crashing loading devices.

1. unplug all devices in usb ports and retry

2. disconnect any devices such as PCI cards and retry

Thanks - but things have now got worse!! The PC is crashing even when I try to copy the files from the CD to the hard drive!! Any other suggestions? Could the DVD player be broke?
