XP and Hyper-threading

Have just bought a load of new parts for my PC. I am upgrading to a P4 Prescott 3.0Ghz with a Asus P4P800E Deluxe m/board. However, reading the motherboard manual I find that under 'notes on hyper-threading technology' it says 'Make sure to enable the hyper-threading technology in the BIOS before installing a supported operating system'.
I am keeping my old harddrive during the upgrade which is running windows XP pro. Does this mean I have to format my harddrive and re-install XP in order to take advantage of the hyper-threading technology?

Cheers ppl :)
