xp home uninstall

I have installed xp home on my desk top from a disk which came with my laptop (Dell said it would be OK?) I now want to uninstall it as it is clear that this only meant for 1 computer. Have gone to add/remove programmes in control panel but there is nothing shown. How can I get rid of this and go back and reinstall win 98?

Get a boot disk from click here and start the PC with it in the floppy drive. Format the C drive and then install 98.

dell said it was ok?

it is if you remove it from the other computer.only allowed one install at a time.you will need to format the drive and reinstall 98.

grab a bootdisk click here start with it and use fdisk to format the drive. click here may help you.

Yup - "uninstall" in this instance means ditch everything (re-format) and start again.
