XP Home shutdowm

  zant 12:23 11 Jan 10

On occasion my Home XP will not shut down, other times it’s fine. More often than not it is when my computer has been running for a long time. Another symptom is wireless network won’t load prior to the non shut down, but if it’s running it works ok. The only way of recovering is to press the reset button. Windows Task Manager looks ok and my computer is fully up todate. My case and fans are clean. Any suggestion appreciated.

When you say it will not shut down, what exactly is showing on the screen whilst you are waiting got this to happen?

Sorry "for" not "got"

Thanks BMS and FB. It hangs on Saving Settings. I have modified Welcome screen as per FB and it is now under test. Report back soon.

Regret it still hangs on saving settings. Case has been vacced out and fans working ok, temps fine and can't see any conflicts. Help would be appreciated.
