xp home or xp pro?

  Chris JR 17:35 25 Apr 04

I am going to buy a version of windows xp. Should I buy the home or pro version?

I am going to use my stand alone computer to design a web site and then manage it. Parts of the site will be secure and I will be taking online payments.

Any help would be appreciated.

This question is asked regularly in the forums and is also the subject of evaluation on the Microsoft XP home pages click here.

However, the basic thing is that XP Pro is aimed more at a business orientated environment and has superior networking and security features.

And when you decide on what products suits your needs, then try click here and use Quickfind code 50264 [Home] or Quickfind code 52362 [Pro], you may save a pound or two.

One word of warning, some older type software may not run on XP.But XP doe's have a compatibility system available.
