XP Hard Drive Migration

  zecom 16:57 07 May 03

I have XP Pro currently installed on a 20GB HD. I have a new 60GB HD which I wish to migrate to. I have installed the new disk as a slave and formatted it. Can I simply copy the contents from one disk to another and then change the slave to master. If so, how ? I have tried this but it fails on the file ntuser.dat.

You can't just copy files over on a boot partition, I used click here which was trouble free.

Is the following process what you need to do? Put in new hardrive and make it slave, Boot to windows and then go to start run and type in "xcopy c:\*.* /e/h/k/r/c d:" Once this is done make the new hard drive Master.
If this is what you need to do what do all the letters mean (/e/h/k/r/c d)?
Any help would be very welcome.

I have found a product which says it will do what I want. It is from click here. If I get a chance I will attempt it tonight.

Unfortunately the product did not work. So I am back to square one.
